Okay so here's the deal, I got sick back on feb. 1 and was in the ER, I was shaky, emotional, dry mouth, flushed and then pale faced ect. My labs said that my Neutrophil results were high (83.4%) and my Lymphocyte was low (12.4%). So I got to feeling a bit better after a week, and on feb. 11 My doctor had labs done again, this time my Neutrophil was 63.3% and my Lymphocyte was 28.1%. Now i was sick again with similar though less severe symptoms for a few days and on march 11 i was in the ER again and the labs are as follows Neutrophil 77.9% (high) and Lymphocyte 17% (low). Also back in february the "attack" was worse then this time. I asked my doctor to test my hormones and for vitamin deficiency but instead she tried to put my on an antidepressant. Both time this happened it started right before I started my period and lasts for a week or so. Oh and all other labs were normal. Another thing I noticed was my tongue waspale occasionally durning the weeks i was sick. Do you think this could be a thyroid problem? my doctor tested my TSH between the attacks and it was at 1.66 which she said is normal. I'm freaked out though if anyone has any idea, please help!

Hello freakieaz,

Wow... it sure sounds like you are dealing with some difficult physical symptoms. I have a question... do you have Hashimoto's Disease? Or have you only been diagnosed with hypothyroidism? Mainly because you've mentioned test results that sound like a TSH test without antibody screening.

I'm afraid I am not an expert at answering questions regarding Neutrophil and Lymphocyte results however I truly recommend you consider a basic "process of elimination" protocol. I would like to direct you to some helpful sites and hope they have something to offer. But before I do, I would like to suggest that you help us help you troubleshoot if you can. If possible, maybe you can answer these questions as truthfully as possible. It might reveal some underlying issues.

1. Do you have (or could you have) food allergies? Symptoms of food allergies can become desperate if you are severely allergic. Many years ago I was able to connect severe symptoms to some food sensitivities which made a HUGE difference in my condition.

2. What is the condition they are testing you for with the Neutrophil and Lymphocyte tests? What condition would be diagnosed if the results were abnormal in their opinion. I'm sorry to say, I don't know much about them.

3. Are you going through severe stress of any kind? If so, I would really suspect a relationship between the physical symptoms and your stressor. If this is an issue, I would highly recommend a very simple technique of calming the body down with EFT. Here's the link (we have found it to be amazing - if your symptoms are related to emotions, this procedure can eliminate the symptoms rather rapidly):

http://www.emofree.com/
(There is a free manual and a simple beginners package I would highly recommend)

4. What is your diet like? Are you on any other prescription or over-the-counter drugs?

5. Have you considered seeing a natural doctor to get a consultation? It may be worth every penny! This is how I started my road to a healthier me! I used to be in and out of the emergency room with weird symptoms too. Changing my diet and paying close attention to other natural ways of healing changed my life and I haven't been to the emergency room in over 8 years! (after being in there every few weeks or months with undiagnosed ailments - finally bringing a "label" of "panic attack" on my file!)

6. Are you either living near or in range of heavy chemicals or other toxins? You could be having severe reactions to environmental components.

7. Are you on hormone replacement pills, birth control pills, etc.? If you are having monthly bouts, there could be a coorelation and your hormones could a factor.

It's almost like detective work to find answers, especially when you are feeling so ill. I finally realized that the doctors were not going to care about me like I care about me and it didn't take long to find out that I could do a better job at figuring out my problem once I began to research. If you haven't heard of Dr. Mercola yet, his website is a great place to start:

www.mercola.com  Use the search feature to research symptoms or areas of interest.

Consider reading my article at eHow if you are a Hashimoto's sufferer:

http://www.ehow.com/how_2080117_live-better-hashimotos-thyroiditis.html

If you have the resources financially, you might find many answers from one consultation with a NAET practicioner. They can tell you in ONE visit what you are allergic to and give you an emergency elimination treatment which is completely painless and eliminates the offender. I would highly recommend this if you can afford it. Here's the website to help you find someone in your area: http://naet.com/

It is possible that by answering the above questions, you might find some possible correlation between your symptoms and possible "offenders". If this process doesn't help, I would highly recommend the consultation with a reputable natural/alternative doctor in your area. What I found out was that I was spending more on emergency trips, medications and stress than I did once I found answers and a good partner for my health care.

Hope some of this helps. Keep up the fight. There are answers out there!
